KimuTaku's HERO Revival as A Movie!

This time, KimuTaku's character, Kuryu-kenji will have to face a challenge from the hard-to-defeat, strongest enemy, with Matsu Takako (29) and also the other original line-up casts. The movie which seems gonna be a national movie like the #1 box office nation-wide movie, Odoru Daisousassen [Bayside Shakedown], is planned to premiere nation-wide in September next year.

HERO, the drama series, broadcasted in Winter 2001. Tells the story of a juniorhigh-graduate, former-juvenile delinquent, unconventional prosecutor who has unusual opinions and insight, and always pursuing the truth. In addition to the interesting points of the story, the strong character became tremendously popular, and it has become a record as one of the #1 FujiTV drama series in the history with an average rating of 34.3%. In July this year, the story had also been revived to a one-episode special drama, after 5 years, with a high average rating of 30.9%.
Kameyama Chihiro, HERO production's chief, had always been thinking to make it as a movie since 3-4 years ago. But then, the final decision can only be made, after the drama special broadcasted. The script is still being written in the mean time, and the filming opening ceremony is planned to be held in March next year.
In the movie, Kuryu-kenji who just returned to his former office, the Tokyo Public Prosecutor Office Josai Branch, with the abilities and talents also law power, will have to face a showdown with the strongest enemy he ever find. The opponent's role is still in the process of casting, and he/she's definitely gonna be a big-name actor/actress, that even the Kuryu on the TV had never fight someone like him/her.
In the drama special, the set was on the Yamaguchi prefecture, and besides KimuTaku, the original casts had very little screen appearances. But this time, it is planned that the main casts will be the exact original line-up casts: Matsu Takako, Otsuka Nene (38), Abe Hiroshi (42), Katsumura Masanobu (43) and the others. The scale would be something larger, and there's also plans to film scenes overseas.
HERO's Prosecutor Kuryu and Odoru Daisousassen's Police Detective Aoshima (Oda Yuji) as actors and as characters, both has the same strong image characters. There's a possibility that HERO might surpass Odoru Daisousassen's success.
