Fuji TV party
This well-organized yet relaxed, playful and well-attended party at Carlton Beach drew actress Mischa Barton and director Wong Kar Wai ("My Blueberry Nights"), whose arrival caused a near riot for the host's aggressive camera crews. Giveaways included colorful plastic party masks, bright pinwheels and Manga stickers to take home to the kids. Grownups got little wooden box cups used to sip sake or great for holding paper clips once it's back to business.
Attendees: Appropriate to the antics of Japanese TV, the guests of honor, actors Takuya Kimura ("2046") and Shingo Katori, opened the festivities by smashing open a barrel of vintage rice wine with hammers while morning show presenter Reiko Endo led the rest of us in a raucous chant to break the ice. Yoshiaki Yamada, executive managing director of Fuji TV, and Chihiro Kameyama, head of Fuji's motion pictures department, welcomed guests from around the world including Michael Werner of Fortissimo Films, Shirley Huang of Movie-Eye and Jeffrey Chan of Distribution Workshop.
Cuisine: The chicken yakitori sticks were a bit dry, but the wide selection of other hors d'oeuvres was an excellent blend of Japanese, French and Italian. After the initial sake-soaking, most guests switched to the free-flowing bubbly served from well-stocked full bars lit with cool standing mini-chandlers.
Highlights/lowlights: The party lacked good music, but organizers might be forgiven for knowing it was hopeless to try to compete with the booming tunes from the party next door.

At once 20 security guards formed a wall around him to escort him for the 3 minutes distance to the car.
Shingo with his 4 bodyguards were left at the end of the crowd but Shingo was happy and cheerful even initiating greetings with reporters.
Kimura was asked about the purpose of his trip to Cannes at the party and he said, "This is not a matter of jumping across the barrier and it is not a matter of what color is the carpet. The message delivered at Cannes is the most important message."
Shingo said he is envious to be able to try walking on the red carpet. The last time he was here, he tried to cross the barrier and it angered the staff. He hoped that next year he could walk the red carpet.
The event drew 200 guests and Wong Kar Wai especially came to the function. When the two met, Kimura gave a hug and shook Wong Kar Wai's hand. Asked if the two would work together, he said, "Today is not the time to talk about this but if there is an opportunity in the future."
At the toast, Kimura broke a glass when toasting with Shingo and he quickly said, "I like sake, I like beer."
They left soon after. They will stay for a week. Kimura will spend time at F1 races and he himself would also try out F-1 driving. Shingo would watch the EU soccer match.
In the streets are posters of Kimura's Hero and Shingo's Monkey Magic.

According to the press, Beat Takeshi never forgave Kimura for not accepting the nominations at the Japan Academy Awards because he was part of the jury. That is why when Kimura turned up, he asked that question why is he here.
Kimura at the conference said, "On this occasion to be able to see all of you, I'm very happy to be able to introduce this movie to you all. This Cannes party is really swell. I am not sure how long it will last but do enjoy yourself. Thank you."
Shingo did a voice impersonation of monkey king and the press wrote that it brought a smile to Kimura's face allowing the press to see the charm of Kimura, the star.
Shingo said at the conference that he is happy to be able to see Wong Kar Wai and all these directors. He would really like to work with Wong Kar Wai if possible.
Kimura was asked which international star he would like to work with. He said that even though it is not possible anymore, he would have liked to work with the late James Dean. He would like to play the role of Johnny Depp as captain in the Pirates of the Carribean TV version.

Hee................Takuya mau main sama James Dean?? Bukannya dia udah mati? Kalo ga salah James Dean itu bintang film legendaris Hollywood jaman dahulu kala yang baru satu kali main film trus mati kecelakaan. Mungkin maksud Takuya pengen berperan jadi James Dean kali, ya?

Mereka kan jadi tamunya fujitv (hero sama saiyuki producernya fujitv). selama festival kan ada ajang jual beli film bagi para distributor, semoga aja distributor indo beli hak pemutaran kedua film ini yak..................

gw ngerti deh kalo takuya pengen main film sama late james dean. takuya kan slalu punya pilihan yang ga biasa dan mungkin karena liat james dean main di rebel without a cause. di film itu kan james dean-nya cool plus wild gituh. mirip2 image takuya jaman dulu deh.
tuh film emang udah lama bgt secara james dean jg udah meninggal dari taun 1955 umur 24 thn..
in person juga james dean suka acting dan sport, mirip takuya gitu lah..
gw dukung klo dia jadi capt jack. abis skarang kalo liat poster pirates of carribean, gw slalu ktawa dan bpikir bahwa johnny deep yang mirip takuya instead of takuya yg mirip2in johhny deep. hehehe..

Pikiran gw jadi menerawang jauh nih, bisa aja kali ya Takuya maen film bareng James Dean kayak Natalie Cole nyanyi duet sama almarhum Nat King Cole. Secara teknis pasti bisa tuh, cuma mungkin yang susah ngepasin alur cerita supaya bisa cocok sama dialog James Dean di filmnya dulu.
Wah.......pasti keren tuh kalo bisa terlaksana. Bayangin aja, dua bintang super kakoi dari jaman yang berbeda gabung dalam satu film. Mungkin ngga, ya???????

Iya tuh, yg translate-annya kimurafan soal cewe2 yg ngejar2 Takuya di cannes. Iri gue. Dia dpt td tgn. 2x pula. Katanya pas Takuya nanya nama cewe itu "To ......?" buat ditulis di td tgnnya, his voice so gentle n magnetic. Uhuhuhuuuuuuu........Trs kta ce itu juga, kulit Takuya cukup gelap, bulu matanya mempesona, tau deh apa lagi. Bikin gw doki2 sendiri bin mupeng.
