SMAP member Masahiro Nakai will star in the movie "Watashi wa Kai ni Naritai," scheduled for release next year. The story deals with a man who unjustly gets sentenced to death as a war criminal.
Also known as "I Want to Be a Shellfish," the work was originally written as a drama special in 1958, starring Frankie Sakai. The following year, it was turned into a highly-acclaimed feature-length film. It was also later remade as another drama special in 1994, starring George Tokoro.
The new movie is being handled by TBS director Katsuo Fukuzawa and screenwriter Shinobu Hashimoto (who wrote the script for the original drama). Filming will begin this fall.
This is Nakai's first movie since "Mohouhan" in 2002, and his first acting role since the 2004 drama series, "Suna no Utsuwa."

Horeee.....Nakai bikin film lagiiiii.....asyiikkk dah kangen berat nih ama akting Nakai, Wsang....."suami"mu bikin film lagi nih...., he...he...he....
Aduuuhhh....jangan doooong...., moga-moga tahun ini mereka tetap bikin concert dong, khan shootingnya mulai "Fall Season" (eh, ini kira-kira di bulan apa yah?), bukannya mereka biasanya kalo concert di "Summer Season" yah ? Berarti khan seharusnya sehabis concert baru Nakai start shooting toh ?? Biarpun gw seneng banget Nakai mulai bikin film lagi tp kayaknya nggak sreg banget deh kalo ampe ngorbanin ritual tahunan concertnya, moga2 Nakai dan SMAP Management bisa tetep ngadain concert tahun ini...Amiiin.......(komat kamit baca doa)

It was announced in May that SMAP's Masahiro Nakai was given the lead role in a new feature-length version of "Watashi wa Kai ni Naritai" ("I Want to Be a Shellfish"), a 1958 drama special that was later adapted to film and remade for television.
Nakai plays a man sentenced to death as a war criminal. Actress Yukie Nakama has now officially signed on to co-star with Nakai, playing the part of his wife.
The film is directed by Katsuo Fukuzawa and written by Shinobu Hashimoto. It is scheduled for release at the end of next year.
